Safety glasses and goggles
This page lists safety spectacles, overspectacles and goggles. The catalog includes 3M SecureFit and Solus spectacles, 3M 2800 series overspectacles for people who wear prescription glasses, 3M Fahrenheit and Uvex i-5 goggles, Delta Plus Vulcano tinted glasses and Ansell BioClean sterile single-use goggles for cleanrooms.
EN 166 is the base standard, and the markings on frame and lens carry the detail. Mechanical strength is marked S for increased robustness, then F, B and A for low, medium and high energy impact. Goggles add field-of-use codes such as 3 for liquid droplets and splashes, 4 for large dust particles and 5 for gas and fine dust. K marks resistance to surface damage by fine particles and N marks resistance to fogging. Filter lenses have separate standards: EN 170 for ultraviolet, EN 172 for sun glare and EN 169 for welding.
Traxfair takes one request for the whole eyewear requirement, whether you name exact codes or describe the hazard. Our team asks verified European suppliers to quote and brings their offers back in one standardized format.

Frequently asked questions
Do safety glasses protect against chemical splashes?
Generally not. Spectacles leave gaps around the eyes, so EN 166 does not allow them the field-of-use code 3 for liquids. For splashes, choose goggles marked 3, or a face shield over goggles where the face also needs cover. Check the marking on the frame rather than relying on the product description.
What do frame markings such as EN 166 FT mean?
The frame shows the manufacturer's identification, the standard number, any field-of-use codes and the impact letter. F means low energy impact resistance, and a T after it means the product passed that test at -5 °C and +55 °C. K and N on the lens show resistance to scratching by fine particles and to fogging.
Can I source overspectacles for staff who wear prescription glasses?
Yes. Overspectacles such as the 3M 2800 series fit over most prescription frames and carry the same EN 166 markings as other safety eyewear. Goggles with a deep frame can also work over glasses. Note in your request how many wearers need them and whether their frames are large, so suppliers can quote a model that fits.
